The North Carolina Department of Agriculture wanted to introduce online payments for its Pesticide Division. Doing so required more than adding a payment button. The project involved an external payment provider, internal stakeholders and State Controller compliance requirements.
Selected by the CIO to lead the effort, Elaine coordinated the technical and organizational pieces needed to bring the new payment capability online.

The Challenge
The department needed to introduce online payments while coordinating requirements across several parties, including an external payment provider and the State Controller.
The Solution
Elaine led coordination with the FirstData/PayPoint project manager, an internal department head, the web designer and the State Controller. She helped keep technical implementation and compliance requirements aligned throughout the project.
The Outcome
Online payments successfully went live for the Pesticide Division, with the implementation completed on schedule.
Business Impact
A previously unavailable digital payment capability became part of the department’s services, giving the Pesticide Division a new way to accept payments online.
