Project Brief

An e-commerce warehouse relied on rolls of preprinted shipping labels to fulfill customer orders. The business needed its existing warehouse software to connect directly with multiple shipping carriers so labels could be generated and printed on demand as part of the normal fulfillment process.

Elaine integrated the company’s .NET and Java warehouse software with third-party shipping systems, allowing employees to create carrier-specific labels directly through the application.

The Challenge

Warehouse staff depended on rolls of preprinted shipping stickers while fulfilling orders across multiple carriers. The existing process needed to be replaced without disrupting the warehouse software already supporting fulfillment.

The Solution

Elaine integrated the existing warehouse application with shipping services used by FedEx, UPS and a Canadian carrier. The integration allowed shipping labels to be generated through the software when they were actually needed.

The Outcome

Warehouse employees could print the appropriate carrier label on demand directly through the fulfillment system instead of relying on preprinted sticker rolls.

Business Impact

The project replaced a physical, manual dependency with an integrated digital workflow and made label generation part of the existing shipping process.
